Two days along the south shore of Issyk-Kul: the turquoise Orto-Tokoy reservoir, the red Aksay and Skazka canyons, and on day two the high country — Barskoon’s waterfalls, passes above 3,800 m and the Arabel plateau with its glacial lakes. For those who find one day not enough.
Day-by-day itinerary
- Day 1 — Orto-Tokoy reservoir, the Aksay canyons, lunch in nature or in Kaji-Say, and Skazka Canyon with an overnight in Kaji-Say on the south shore of Issyk-Kul.
- Day 2 — the Barskoon gorge with the ‘Bars’ Tears’ and ‘Manas Cup’ waterfalls, the Sary-Moynok (3,442 m) and Barskoon (3,819 m) passes, the Arabel plateau with glacial lakes and the Suek pass (4,028 m).
